Cupping Therapy

Cupping therapy is a method of creating a vacuum on the patient’s skin to dispel stagnation and heat, thereby improving energy flow, to release toxins and achieve therapeutic effect. The red bruising you may notice is not a bruise like someone damaging but more of dead blood coming to the surface, the more you cup that area the lighter and healthier it will becomes.

Cupping therapy offers advantages including aiding in promoting blood flow and increase blood circulation to muscles and tissue, supplies oxygen to cells, loosens knots, and release excess fluids and toxins.

Many athletes are known to use the cupping therapy. Some of these athletes include Michael Phelps and the USA Men’s Olympic gymnastics team, as well as some members of the USA Track and Field team.

Cupping therapy is a very common practice among athletes in many countries including USA, and is considered an effective therapeutic treatment to increase motion and soothe sore and tired muscles. The increased blood flow to the treated areas helps promote muscle relaxation and healing. The benefit is especially noticeable when the patient is competing in a sport such as swimming, gymnastics, or track and field because they are constantly using certain muscles. Increasing the blood flow to the muscles will help loosen these muscles and improve the range of motion these athletes have.

The cupping therapy helps strengthen the patient’s immune system and facilitate the movement of Qi and blood within the body.
